What to check before you buy a bike from a brand new to India
Six checks for anyone looking at a Benelli, Keeway, Zontes, QJ Motor, Moto Morini or CFMoto in India, from who actually imports the bike to what a two year maintenance plan costs.

Benelli 502CA new badge at a show is easy. Living with it for five years in Indore or Kochi is the hard part. If you are looking at a Chinese or European brand that has just arrived in India, work through six checks in this order: who the Indian importer is, whether the bike is homologated or only announced, how far your nearest workshop with spares really is, what the warranty covers on that exact model, what a maintenance plan costs, and how exposed the price is to duty and GST.
Who actually sells you the bike
The badge on the tank is rarely the company you will deal with. Five of the brands on this beat sit under one Hyderabad house: Adishwar Auto Ride India, which runs Benelli, Keeway and Moto Morini, took on Zontes in 2022 and also handles QJ Motor. The retail front is Moto Vault, which says it is now in over 37 locations across India, Bengaluru included.
That matters because the importer, not the factory, decides your prices, your parts stock and your technicians. When Autocar India spoke to AARI managing director Vikas Jhabakh in July 2026, he said Benelli would bring in one product before the end of the year and added, "We are under homologation right now". The same report said the TNT600i has been ruled out because the emissions and E20 work needed was too expensive. A model can exist globally and still never reach a showroom here.
CFMoto is the cautionary case. Its 450MT was reported in September 2025 as delayed in India because the engine had to be remapped for E20 petrol, with the Indian partner not even named at that point.
Homologation, workshops and warranty
Ask the dealer for the model's homologation status in writing before any money changes hands. Then ask whether the outlet nearest you is a full sales, service and spares point or a showroom only, and where the parts warehouse for your bike sits. For a 650 twin, a 400km round trip for a valve check changes the ownership maths.
Read the warranty per model, not per brand. Benelli India's own dealership announcement from October 2021 listed the Imperiale 400 with a 2 year unlimited kilometre warranty while the Leoncino 500, TRK 502, TRK 502X and 502c carried 3 years unlimited kilometres, with 24x7 roadside assistance. Terms change, so get the current booklet.
What the upkeep and the price will do
AARI publishes its maintenance contract prices, which is more than most importers do. A 2 year, 24,000km AMC on the Imperiale 400 with four scheduled services is listed at ₹15,693. The same duration on the TRK 502 and TRK 502X as an AMC+ with five services is ₹42,999, the Leoncino 500 and 502C plan is ₹40,999, and a Keeway SR125 AMC+ with nine services is ₹17,199. Service intervals across the range run from 3 months or 3,000km to 6 months or 6,000km. The contract is tied to the frame number and transfers if you sell the bike, and AARI says parts price rises will not be charged during the plan.

Finally, treat the sticker price as a moving number. The CFMoto 450MT's planned route was CKD assembly at 10 per cent customs duty, landing in the 40 per cent GST bracket. Importers do adjust: AARI cut the Moto Morini X-Cape 650 by ₹1.31 lakh to ₹5.99 lakh in May 2024, with the spoked X variant at ₹6.49 lakh.

If a brand cannot answer the homologation, spares and plan questions on the spot, wait one model cycle. The bikes are not going anywhere, and the second owner always pays for the first owner's optimism.
