Where the listings come from
Assist, Moto365's used-car search, reads the used-car classifieds for Bengaluru every day: marketplaces, dealers and certified programmes. It merges the same car listed on several sites, drops cars that have sold, and sets aside prices no car of that age could sell for (a deposit or an instalment shown as the price).
How the fair price is worked out
For a model, every comparable listing in the city is used. Price is fitted on year and kilometres together, so a newer year raises it and more kilometres lower it, with the two kept apart rather than mixed up. The range shown is where the middle 70% of comparable cars are listed (the 15th to 85th percentile), tightened to a year either side when you give one.
How each listing gets its verdict
Each listing is compared with the fair price for its own year, kilometres, fuel, gearbox and variant. The tolerance widens for models whose prices spread a lot, so a base trim isn't called a bargain just for being a base trim. Great price also has to sit in the cheapest quarter of its neighbours. Prices far below anything the car could sell for are marked unusually low, not great.
What it cannot tell you
These are asking prices. Nobody publishes what a used car finally sold for, so the fair price is where a fair negotiation should start, not a guarantee. It knows nothing about a particular car's condition, accident history or service record: that needs the papers and an inspection.
What the Club keeps
The Club asks Assist for a summary of a model and keeps it for a few hours. It stores no listing. The cars shown as priced well link to the listing on Assist, where you can see it in full.
