BMW Motorrad showed the limited run M 1000 RS at EICMA 2026 in Milan on November 3, a 218 hp hyper naked built around the M 1000 RR's engine, priced at €40,000 with just 1,000 units and no confirmed India plan yet.

BMW Motorrad M 1000 RThe world's most powerful hyper naked
BMW Motorrad showed the M 1000 RS to the public for the first time at EICMA 2026 in Milan on November 3. The company calls it the world's most powerful hyper naked bike, and the number backs that up: 218 hp at 14,500 rpm from a 999cc inline four lifted straight out of the M 1000 RR superbike.
BMW says the bike is ready to ride, fully fuelled, at 196 kg. That gives it a power to weight figure few naked bikes can match. BMW's own numbers put 0 to 100 kmph at 3.2 seconds and top speed at 283 kmph.
The M 1000 RS gets a full titanium M exhaust, forged carbon wheels, carbon winglets and a carbon shroud over the fuel tank. The electronics package carries over from the M 1000 R: multiple riding modes, Dynamic Traction Control, Wheelie Control, cruise control and a bi-directional quickshifter as standard, with the M Track Package included.

BMW will build only 1,000 units worldwide, each individually numbered. Price in Germany is set at €40,000 including VAT, which works out to roughly ₹41 to 42 lakh at current exchange rates, before any import duty. The bike reaches dealers from March 2027.
Where it fits in BMW's M range
The M 1000 RS slots between the M 1000 R hyper naked and the M 1000 RR superbike in BMW's lineup, essentially a limited run, lighter, more track focused version of the M 1000 R built around the superbike's engine internals. It joins the M 1000 RR, M 1000 R and M 1000 XR as the fourth bike to carry BMW Motorrad's M badge.
EICMA 2026 also saw BMW show the new F 450 family, including the F 450 R and F 450 RR, built around a new 420cc parallel twin. That is a separate, more accessible line and does not change the M 1000 RS story.
What it means for an Indian buyer
BMW Motorrad India has not said whether the M 1000 RS will come here. Both the sources covering the Milan unveiling note that an India launch is unconfirmed. Given the run of just 1,000 units worldwide and BMW India's past practice of bringing in such limited bikes as CBU imports, a price well above ₹60 lakh in India would not be a surprise if it arrives, once duties and freight are added to the European sticker price.
For context, the M 1000 RR superbike that lends the M 1000 RS its engine is already sold in India as a CBU import priced well into the premium superbike bracket. Riders chasing the M 1000 RS specifically should expect a long wait and a small allocation even if BMW India does confirm it, given the 1,000 unit global cap.
