Royal Enfield Continental GT 650A bigger twin for the café racer
Royal Enfield unveiled the Continental GT 750 at EICMA 2026 in Milan on November 3, moving its signature café racer up from the 650cc Interceptor platform to the new 743cc parallel twin twin that also powers the Himalayan 750. The engine is air and oil cooled, with a six speed gearbox and twin exhaust pipes, and Royal Enfield says it is tuned for more performance than the Himalayan version, which makes the Continental GT 750 the company's most powerful production motorcycle so far. The company has not yet published official power and torque figures for this specific tune, according to Visordown's report from the stand.
Royal Enfield also used EICMA to show the Himalayan 750 itself, the Flying Flea S6 electric motorcycle and a Deus Ex Machina custom Shotgun 650, as part of the brand's 125th anniversary showcase. The Continental GT 750 is the one with the most direct bearing on the existing 650 twin lineup that Indian buyers already know.
Faired, unfaired and three colours
The Continental GT 750 comes in two body styles. There is a half faired version and a naked café racer version, offered across three paint schemes: Red Line, TT Blue and Master Clean. Red Line and Master Clean get chrome finishes, wire spoke wheels and tubed Veredestein Centauro ST tyres, while TT Blue runs alloy wheels with tubeless tyres, according to BikeAdvice's coverage of the unveiling.
The bike rides on 18 inch wheels at both ends, with Showa suspension carrying preload adjustment front and rear, a single piece seat with a removable cowl, twin front disc brakes and a single rear disc. The instrument cluster is a new hybrid twin pod TFT display that keeps the familiar twin dial look of the outgoing Continental GT 650 while adding a digital screen in the centre. The fuel tank holds 12.5 litres. Royal Enfield says the bike keeps a mostly analogue riding feel with limited electronic intervention, in line with how the brand has positioned its 650 twins in India.
What it means for Indian buyers
Royal Enfield has not announced pricing or a firm India launch date for the Continental GT 750. Reports from the EICMA floor point to dealership arrival some time in 2027, after the Himalayan 750 and Flying Flea S6, which are also expected to reach Indian showrooms before the Continental GT 750 does. For now the current Continental GT 650, built on the 648cc parallel twin shared with the Interceptor 650, continues as Royal Enfield's café racer on sale in India.
The move to a 743cc twin places the new Continental GT above the 650cc twins that anchor Royal Enfield's biggest selling premium range in India today. Buyers planning a Continental GT 650 purchase in the near term have no reason to wait, since the 750 is still a year or more away from Indian roads and its price is not yet set. The eventual India price will depend on how Royal Enfield positions it against the existing 650 twins and against rivals such as the Triumph Speed Twin and Kawasaki W800.
