A customer series that has quietly become a ladder

This is not a new idea at TVS. The programme started in 2007 as a way for Apache owners to race in a controlled setting, and in 2023 TVS Racing turned it into a structured championship for its premium customers. The 2025-26 season was the first to go international, across four countries, and it also ended at Madras. More than 4,000 riders have taken part since the programme began.

The customer classes for men are split by capacity: 160/180cc and 200cc on the Apache RTR, and 310cc on the Apache RR 310. There is a dedicated women's 200cc category, which evo India notes is subject to participation, plus media classes divided into novice and expert.

What a win is worth

The prize structure is the interesting part for anyone eyeing a racing career rather than a weekend out. Category winners get an all-expenses-paid trip to a MotoGP round and two wildcard entries into the TVS One Make Championship, which is the series that feeds riders into the national racing ladder. Runners-up get one wildcard entry and MotoGP tickets. Third place gets MotoGP tickets and a factory visit.

That wildcard is the real currency. For a club rider in Pune or Kolkata who has never turned a lap on a full circuit, two entries into a professionally run one make series is a far cheaper route to a race licence and lap time than buying a race bike and a transporter.

Vimal Sumbly, Head of Premium Business at TVS Motor Company, said in the release that the championship "has grown into a championship embodying our belief in making motorsport more accessible and creating pathways for racing talent".

The Indian reading

India's two-wheeler racing ladder is narrow at the bottom. Below the MRF MMSC FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship there are only a handful of one make series, and most of them sit in Chennai and Coimbatore. A 20 city programme that puts riding school style sessions and timed racing in front of customers in Lucknow, Jaipur and Indore widens the funnel in places where the nearest permanent circuit is a flight away.

Two caveats for readers planning to sign up. TVS has not published entry fees or round by round dates for each city in the announcement, and the women's class only runs if enough riders turn up. If you ride an Apache and you want in, watch the TVS Racing channels before the 15 November opener, and treat the Bengaluru round as the one to target if you are local.
