The short answer, if you only have a minute. The Grand Tour sits entirely on Amazon Prime Video in India, all its seasons plus the farewell film. Top Gear is not on Prime Video itself. It comes through two paid add-on channels inside the Prime Video app, discovery+ and BBC Player, and JustWatch India lists discovery+ with nine seasons and BBC Player with two. There is no free, legal way to stream the full episodes of either show in India right now.

₹49.9 per month

That split matters more this week, because the standalone discovery+ app is closing here.

What changes on 3 November 2026

Warner Bros. Discovery is shutting the discovery+ app and website in India from 3 November 2026. New subscriptions stopped on 3 September, monthly plans stopped auto-renewing from 3 October, and annual subscribers whose term runs past 3 November get a pro-rated refund for the unused part. The company says its content stays available through partner platforms, and it names Amazon Prime Video Channels, Jio TV+, Jio TV, Tata Play Binge, Dish TV VZY and Playbox TV.

So if you were watching old Top Gear on the discovery+ app, your route now is the discovery+ channel inside Prime Video, or one of the distributors above. Check the Top Gear series list in the app before you pay, because what a channel carries on one platform is not always what it carries on another.

Step by step, and what you pay

  1. Get a Prime membership first. Prime Video Channels in India are add-on subscriptions sold only to Prime members, which Amazon said when it launched the store in September 2021. JustWatch India currently lists Prime Video at ₹299 a month with a 30 day free trial.
  2. For The Grand Tour, stop there. JustWatch India shows all six seasons on Prime Video, including 4K, with no extra add-on needed. The finale is The Grand Tour: One For The Road, released on 13 September 2024, with Jeremy Clarkson in a Lancia Beta Montecarlo, Richard Hammond in a Mk1 Ford Capri and James May in a Triumph Stag, shot across Zimbabwe and Botswana.
  3. For Top Gear, add a channel. JustWatch India lists the BBC Player Amazon Channel at ₹49.90 a month and the discovery+ Amazon Channel at ₹299 a month with seven days free. BBC Player was reported at ₹599 a year when it launched on Prime Video Channels in India, with Top Gear named in its line-up, so the annual route is the cheaper one if you plan to keep it.
  4. Cancel in the Channels section, not the show page. Add-ons bill separately from Prime and keep running after you finish a season.

What you still cannot get, and what is free

Not every series is licensed here. JustWatch India says Top Gear Series 24 is not available for streaming in India at all, while it found the series in 25 other countries. Expect gaps in the Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc years and in the specials.

The free layer is YouTube, and it is genuinely good. Top Gear's own channel, Jay Leno's Garage, Chris Harris on Cars, carwow, Donut, Hagerty and Petrolicious all publish to India at no cost, ads aside. That is where Harris, Leno and the carwow drag race format live full time now. Nothing there replaces a full 57 minute episode, but for one film a week it costs nothing, and the archive on Jay Leno's Garage alone runs to hundreds of cars.
