What Kia's EV owner extended warranty costs in India

Kia Carens Clavis EVWhat the plan costs
Kia sells every electric model in India, the EV6, the Carens Clavis EV and the Syros EV, with a standard new vehicle warranty of three years and unlimited kilometres. My Convenience e-Plus is the extended plan that picks up cover after that, and its price depends on the car.
For the cheapest combination, a fourth year of cover capped at 1,00,000 km, bought within three months of taking delivery, Kia prices it at ₹67,446 for the EV6, ₹20,615 for the Carens Clavis EV and ₹16,466 for the Syros EV. Go to the most generous combination, a fourth and fifth year with unlimited kilometres, bought once the car is already 25 to 36 months old, and the EV6 plan costs ₹1,51,754, the Carens Clavis EV ₹46,383 and the Syros EV ₹37,049. Every one of these prices is before tax. Kia adds 18 per cent GST on top.

Why the price moves so much
Four things decide what you pay. The model matters most, the EV6 costs more than the Carens Clavis EV, which costs more than the Syros EV, at every matching tier. The duration matters too, a fourth year alone is cheaper than a fourth and fifth year together. The kilometre cap matters, a plan capped at 1,00,000 or 1,20,000 km costs less than one with unlimited kilometres. And the age of your car on the day you buy the plan matters most of all for timing it right.

| 0 to 3 months old | ₹67,446 |

| 13 to 24 months old | ₹87,680 |
| 25 to 36 months old | ₹91,052 |

Kia splits that last factor into four brackets, 0 to 3 months old, 4 to 12 months, 13 to 24 months, and 25 to 36 months. Buy the same EV6 plan, fourth year, 1,00,000 km cap, at each bracket and the price climbs from ₹67,446 to ₹74,191 to ₹87,680 and finally to ₹91,052. Kia will not sell the plan at all once the car crosses 36 months.
What is already covered for free
Before you pay for an extension, know what Kia already gives every first owner. The high voltage battery on the Carens Clavis EV and Syros EV carries lifetime cover, which Kia defines as 15 years, against capacity loss below 70 per cent. The EV6's battery is covered for 96 months or 1,60,000 km, whichever comes first. None of that needs My Convenience e-Plus. What the extended plan buys is cover on other components, the motor, the electronics and general parts, for the years after your standard three year warranty ends. It does not cover routine maintenance, wear and tear items, rubber parts, or damage from accidents, misuse or non genuine chargers.
How to buy it, step by step
Decide before your car turns three years old. Visit a Kia dealer or service centre and ask for My Convenience e-Plus by name. Pick your duration, either the fourth year alone or the fourth and fifth together, and pick your kilometre cap based on how much you actually drive each year. Confirm the price for your car's exact age bracket, pay the amount plus 18 per cent GST in one upfront payment, and ask the dealer to log the plan against your vehicle's VIN so any authorised Kia workshop can honour it later.
