What a sim racing rig costs in India: wheel, games and desk
An authorised Logitech G29 is ₹31,900, Assetto Corsa is ₹880 on Steam and Gran Turismo 7 was listed at ₹2,599 by Reliance Digital, so here is how a first setup actually adds up.

Car Culture, Shows & EventsIf you already own a gaming PC or a PS5, your first real sim racing setup is two purchases: a force feedback wheel with pedals, and one game. A Logitech G29 wheel and pedal set is ₹31,900 from authorised Indian stock with a two-year Logitech India warranty, according to sim gear retailer NVSX. The G923, which adds TrueForce and a progressive brake, is ₹44,900. On Steam India, Assetto Corsa is ₹880 and BeamNG.drive is ₹1,100. So roughly ₹33,000 puts you on track, and everything above that is comfort.

Step 1: pick the platform before the wheel
This is where most money gets wasted. Gran Turismo 7 runs only on PlayStation. Reliance Digital lists the PS5 standard edition at ₹2,599 against an MRP of ₹5,199. A PlayStation setup needs a PlayStation-licensed wheel, which is the G29, not the Xbox-focused G920. Check the box before you pay.
The PC route is cheaper per game and far wider. Current Steam India prices: Assetto Corsa ₹880, BeamNG.drive ₹1,100, Assetto Corsa EVO ₹1,989 (on offer at ₹1,591), Forza Horizon 5 ₹3,499, The Crew Motorfest ₹4,199, and Forza Horizon 6, which released on 18 May 2026, at ₹5,499.
Step 2: do not buy the grey import wheel
NVSX flags that G29 units appear on Amazon and Flipkart at ₹24,000 to ₹27,000, and G923 units at ₹35,000 to ₹38,000, below authorised Indian retail. Those are grey imports without Logitech India warranty cover. A force feedback wheel is a motor and a gear train under constant load, and it is the gears that fail first. Paying ₹5,000 to ₹7,000 more for two years of service network cover is the cheapest insurance in this hobby.
Step 3: mount it before you upgrade it
A G29 clamps to a desk. A desk that slides under braking will teach you bad habits and nothing else. Use a heavy table, tighten the clamp properly, and push the pedal plate against a wall or a skirting board so it cannot creep. Only once you are racing three times a week does a cockpit frame make sense. In Indian flats, a foldable stand that goes behind a cupboard is usually the sane answer.
Step 4: buy the game that matches what you want
BeamNG.drive has no licensed real cars at all, and exists for its soft-body crash physics. Version 0.40, out on 19 October 2026, added split-screen play, which makes it the best ₹1,100 you can spend if friends come over. Assetto Corsa at ₹880 is the modding route, and its Steam page promises considerable customisation using the same editing tools the developers used, which is why the community mod scene still sits there.
Assetto Corsa EVO is the one to think twice about. It is still in early access, with 0.7 in June 2026, 0.8 in July, 0.9 in August and free roam only revealed in October 2026. Buy it to follow the build, not to get a finished game.
For the arcade end, Forza Horizon 6 is set in Japan and The Crew Motorfest in Hawaii. Neither needs a wheel. Both are better with one.
