What a connected car app subscription costs in India after the free years end
Kia, Hyundai, Toyota and Tata all hand over the app free with a new car, and the published renewal rates run from about ₹1,890 to ₹4,690 a year once that period runs out.

Hyundai Creta ElectricShort answer: on the brands that publish their rates, a year of connected services costs ₹1,890 to ₹4,690. Kia's own page lists Kia Connect Standalone at ₹1,890 for one year, Basic at ₹3,590 and Premium at ₹4,690. Tata moved its iRA connected services to packs starting at ₹1,999 a year, exclusive of taxes, down from around ₹3,500 before. Maruti Suzuki sells Suzuki Connect as an accessory and lists standalone plans at ₹2,899 onwards for one year, ₹5,299 onwards for two years and ₹7,799 onwards for three years.
The free period is the part most owners forget. Hyundai says Bluelink is offered free for the first three years with a new car. Toyota says i-Connect features such as remote operations, find my car and driver alerts are complimentary for three years from purchase. Kia's page advertises a three year free subscription. So the bill usually lands in year four, long after the showroom conversation.

What each brand charges
Kia is the clearest. The three tiers all come in one, two and three year terms, and the longer terms are cheaper per year: Standalone is ₹2,890 for two years and ₹3,890 for three. One detail matters if you drive an EV6, EV9 or a Carens Clavis EV. Kia's page says Standalone applies to all ICE and EV models, while Basic and Premium apply to all ICE models. An EV owner buying off that list is choosing Standalone.
Maruti's number is different in kind. Suzuki Connect is a device, priced at ₹11,900, and that figure covers the hardware, a three year subscription and applicable taxes. If you bought the car without it, you are paying for the box as well as the service.

Not everyone charges. Skoda's MyŠkoda Plus page states that Skoda Auto does not charge any fee or service charge for using the application. Honda's Honda Connect page talks about subscription plans without publishing a price. Hyundai's subscription page lists one, two and three year plans but keeps the amounts inside images rather than text, so ask the dealer for the figure in writing before you pay.
How to renew, step by step
- Check the expiry date in the app before the car goes in for service, not after the features stop working.
- On Kia Connect, open the bottom menu, tap More, then New Services, then Renew Your Kia Connect Subscription. A Kia dealership can also sell you a renewal.
- On Bluelink, Hyundai's own page points you to the Bluelink Store inside the app, with UPI, debit card, credit card or net banking accepted, or to your nearest dealership.
- Allow time. Hyundai says activation typically takes one to two working days after payment goes through.
- Keep the payment receipt and the plan name. Tiers change, and a dealer quote is not the same as the published rate.
Why EV owners should care more
Kia says over 30 percent of its owners renew, which it puts at over one lakh users re-subscribing at least once a year, so most people let it lapse. On a petrol car that costs you remote locking and a few alerts. On an EV it costs you the remote cabin cooling before you unplug, the charge status you check from your office in Whitefield and the scheduled charging that keeps the car topping up on a cheaper slab overnight. The car still drives. The ownership routine you built around the phone does not.
Budget for it at the three year mark, the same way you budget for tyres.
