Toyota Innova Hycross facelift: spy shots and price leaks so far

Toyota's three row MPV is about to get its first big update since it went on sale in 2022, and the clues have been piling up for months ahead of any official word from the carmaker.

What has been spied and leaked so far

CarWale published spy shots on 20 July showing a camouflaged Innova Hycross test mule with its interior exposed. The report, bylined to Aditya Nadkarni, described a full black dashboard replacing the current dual tone brown and black cabin, a bigger touchscreen than today's 10.1 inch unit, and a brushed aluminium finish on the air conditioning vents. That came six days after CarWale first spied the camouflaged prototype on Indian roads, reported on 15 July, showing a squarer grille, reworked projector headlamps and new tail lamp internals under the wrap.

On 29 August, Car Junction reported a leaked design patent for the facelift, showing a bolder front bumper with diamond shaped housings for the fog lamps and a grille the site called heavily inspired by the Hilux. The report named no patent office or filing number, so this design change counts as leaked, not formally filed and confirmed.

What two independent reports now say

Autocar India, on 3 November, and CarWale, on 4 November, both confirmed a 25 November launch date for the Innova Hycross facelift in India. That gives two independent outlets agreeing on the date, around six weeks after the interior spy shots first surfaced.

Autocar India's own price tracker puts the expected range at Rs 22.63 lakh to Rs 29.29 lakh ex-showroom, against the current Innova Hycross's Rs 19.50 lakh to Rs 27.50 lakh. Other reports from CarWale and Car Junction put the expected ceiling closer to Rs 33 lakh to Rs 35 lakh, so treat any single figure as a range, not a confirmed number, until Toyota publishes its own price list.

The facelift is expected to carry over the 1987cc petrol engine in two forms, a 173 bhp standard petrol with a CVT and a 184 bhp strong hybrid with an e-CVT. The hybrid version is expected to support E30 or higher ethanol blends, which would make it India's first flex fuel strong hybrid car, according to Autocar India. Expect a 12.3 inch touchscreen and a 12.3 inch digital driver's display on hybrid variants, both upgrades over the current 10.1 inch screen and 7 inch instrument cluster.

What is still unknown

Toyota has not teased the car officially, named a variant lineup or confirmed the ethanol compatible hybrid for India. No dealer price list or booking form has leaked yet, and the split of 7 seat and 8 seat layouts across the facelift's trims has not been reported anywhere. Until Toyota's own announcement, every price and feature claim above stays expected, not confirmed.
