IRacing's FIA F4 Global Esports Championship starts 31 October with 30 drivers, and none of them are Indian

IRacing published the 30-driver roster on 28 October for a championship that pays the winner $15,000, and the Asia-Pacific ten came from Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Iran, not India.

IRacing confirmed on 28 October that the 2026 FIA F4 Global Esports Championship presented by MOZA begins on Saturday 31 October at 19:00 GMT, and it published the full list of 30 qualified drivers. The field is split evenly, 10 each from the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific. The purse is $35,000, with the champion taking $15,000.

For an Indian sim racer this is the cheapest and most direct bridge between a desk at home and an FIA-sanctioned title. It is also a reminder of how far away that bridge still is. Look down the Asia-Pacific list and you get Kody Deith, Zach Rattray-White, Shoma Shintani, Deklan Webb, Damon Woods, Curtis Webb, Jordi Slater, Benjamin Roberts, Mehdi Kousha and Calieb Hydes. Not one Indian name.

How the 30 got there

Nobody was invited on reputation. IRacing says the field qualified through the FIA F4 Regional Tour during iRacing Season 3, which started in June, with the top 10 eligible drivers from each of the three regional tours moving up. The tour's qualifying venues included Miami, Mexico City, Adelaide, Fuji, Imola, Mugello, Portimao and the Nurburgring. IRacing says nearly 100,000 drivers have now turned a lap in its virtual F4 car.

The championship itself is eight races across four doubleheader events, on 31 October, 7 November, 14 November and 21 November, as MOZA Racing confirmed when it returned as title sponsor in July. Two rules make it harder than a normal online league. Setups are fixed, so nobody can buy an advantage with engineering time. And drivers do not learn which circuits they are racing on until 24 hours before each event, which kills the practice-10,000-laps-at-one-track approach that a lot of fast sim racers rely on.

What an Indian teenager would actually have to do

There is no India region and no India qualifier in this series. An Indian who wants in has to race the Asia-Pacific tour on iRacing, in the same splits as Australian and Japanese regulars, on Indian broadband, with the time zones that come with it. That is the honest version of the pathway. It is open, it is not reserved for anyone, and it is also not waiting for you.

The India-specific route sits elsewhere. Formula 1 and Mumbai Falcons Racing Limited are running the F1 Sim Racing India Open 2026 on the F1 25 game, with a junior category for ages 10 to 14 and a senior category above 14, split across 10 zones. The national final is at Mumbai's NSCI Dome in November, with the top 30 in each category, juniors racing nine times and seniors 12 times. Each category champion gets ₹1 crore.

That money is far larger than the FIA F4 esports purse, but the two events are not the same thing. The India Open charges to enter, at ₹3,499 for the F1 Standard package and ₹4,999 for the F1 Elite package, and its stated prize is a route into Mumbai Falcons' Agla Star programme, which managing director Ameet Gadhoke has described as progressing from sim racing to 4-stroke karts, then 2-stroke karts, then single-seaters. The FIA F4 Global Esports Championship costs you an iRacing subscription and a season of being quick enough, and pays in cash and an FIA title line on your record.

If you are good on a wheel in India, the useful read is to do both. One pays, one proves.

Not shocking honestly, no India leg in the regional tour means nobody even gets a shot at those qualifying venues. The 24 hour track reveal rule is the real killer though, no amount of grinding one circuit helps you there. Wonder if any Indian sim racer is even attempting the Americas or Europe tour instead.
