How dashcam parking mode works, and whether it drains your car battery
Parking mode needs constant power from a hardwire kit, and the kit's low voltage cutoff is the only thing standing between your dashcam and a dead battery, so here is what Garmin, Kenwood, 70mai and Qubo actually specify.

Aftermarket & ModsThe short answer: parking mode records while your car is switched off, it can only do that if the camera has power that does not die with the ignition, and the thing that stops it flattening your battery is a low voltage cutoff built into the hardwire kit. Plug a camera into a 12V socket that goes dead with the key and you get no parking mode at all. Wire it to a live fuse without a cutoff and you are relying on luck.
Garmin puts it plainly in its own manuals. The parking mode cable "connects the camera to constant power and allows the camera to record video while the vehicle is parked and turned off". Its wiring diagram for the cable shows three wires, black for ground, yellow for battery 12V and red for accessory 12V. That third wire is the clever bit. The accessory feed tells the camera whether the ignition is on, so the camera knows when to switch from normal driving loops to parking watch.
What the hardwire kit is doing
A kit is a small voltage converter with a brain. 70mai's UP03 kit takes DC 12 to 30V from the fuse box and feeds the camera 5V at 2.4A over a 3m cable, and 70mai says it monitors battery voltage to make sure there is enough left to start the engine. The stated protection point is 11.4V for small vehicles and 22.8V for large ones. When the battery sags to that level, the kit cuts the camera off and stops there.

That number matters more in India than the brochure suggests. A car that sits for three days in Delhi winter or bakes in a Chennai basement with a four-year-old battery has far less reserve than a new one. If your kit lets you pick a cutoff level, the higher setting is the safer one on an older battery, and you lose only recording time.
Continuous, impact-triggered or time-lapse
Parking mode is not one feature. On the Kenwood DRV-A301W, parking mode needs the optional CA-DR1030 power cable, and the camera sits dormant until a collision or physical impact, at which point it powers on and records 30 seconds of video. Kenwood also uses a super capacitor so the file closes properly if power is lost. Qubo's 3-channel cameras work differently again. With the hardwiring kit fitted, the G-sensor switches to sensitive mode and records unusual activity such as a door opening, jolts or a windscreen impact, and the camera can build a time-lapse for any one day from the last five.
What a camera will not do is run parking mode on its own internal battery. Qubo's own FAQ for the Smart Dashcam Pro says the camera stays active for one minute after the ignition goes off, and that the internal lithium-ion cell gives three days of standby, which is there to keep the clock right, not to film your parked car. For anything more you buy the kit.
What it costs and how to fit it
Qubo lists the Dashcam Pro 4K front and rear at ₹13,990 against an MRP of ₹22,990, with parking mode shown as a 24 hour feature. The hardwiring kit is sold separately in every case here, and Qubo recommends professional installation for it.

Two practical points for an Indian install. Ask the fitter to use a fuse tap rather than cut and splice factory wiring, so the car can be put back to stock in minutes if a service centre starts hunting an electrical complaint. And have the installer show you the cutoff setting he has chosen, written on the job card, because that single number decides whether your camera protects the car or kills the battery.
