Brabus Turns the New G 63 Into a 900hp Pickup: P 900 Rocket Edition, 10 Cars, €711,718
Announced on 22 October 2026, Brabus's P 900 Rocket Edition stretches the W465 Mercedes-AMG G 63's ladder frame by half a metre and bolts a carbon-and-teak cargo bed behind 900hp, and only ten will exist.

Mercedes-Benz G-ClassMercedes-AMG has never built a G 63 pickup for customers. Brabus, the Bottrop house that has spent four decades out-Mercedesing Mercedes, has now built one on the brand-new W465 G-Class and announced it on 22 October 2026 under the headline "Beyond The Red Line."
What they actually built
The P 900 Rocket Edition starts with the current Mercedes-AMG G 63, then goes at the chassis. Brabus engineered an extension module for the G-Class's steel ladder frame that pushes the wheelbase out by exactly 50 cm, with the rear suspension assemblies relocated rearward by the same amount. A bespoke steel bulkhead with a heated rear window closes off the four-door cabin, and behind it sits a cargo bed with a metal floor, a side-opening tailgate, carbon-fibre side panels and soft-teak decking with red Brabus lettering. Finished length is 5.35 m, about 69 cm longer than a standard G 63, on a 2.06 m-wide Widestar body with exposed-carbon fender flares.
The engine is the familiar Brabus Rocket 900: a bored-out 4,407cc twin-turbo V8 with a custom crankshaft, forged 84mm pistons and Brabus turbos running 1.4 bar, good for 900hp (662kW) and 1,250Nm, electronically capped at 1,050Nm to protect the nine-speed auto. Despite being a 5.35m pickup, it claims 0-100kmph in 3.7 seconds and a limited 240kmph. Brabus Ride Control aluminium coilovers drop it 45mm below a stock G 63, and it rides on 24-inch Monoblock II EVO Platinum Edition wheels with 295/30 front and 345/25 rear Hankooks. Inside: hand-stitched leather and Alcantara in black with red stitching, piping and Masterpiece badging.
The numbers, and what they'd mean here
Brabus is building ten. The German price is €711,718 before VAT, roughly ₹7 crore at prevailing rates, against about €192,691 for the G 63 it starts life as. For context, Mercedes-Benz India lists the G-Class range at ₹2.90 to 3.80 crore ex-showroom, and a pickup is not on that list.
So the only route is a private CBU import, and that is where the maths gets ugly. Since Budget 2025, a CBU car with CIF value above USD 40,000 attracts 70% basic customs duty plus a 40% Agriculture Infrastructure and Development Cess, with the Social Welfare Surcharge waived, the cess essentially cancels out the headline duty cut, so the effective burden is unchanged. Duty alone more than doubles the landed figure before GST and registration. Call it a nine-figure rupee proposition, and that is assuming an import permission and homologation route can be found for a one-off left-hand-drive conversion.
Don't try the shortcut locally
The tempting read is "someone in India could just cut up a G 63." Legally, no. Brabus does this work in Germany as a recognised vehicle manufacturer, before the car is ever registered. Doing it here is a different thing entirely: Section 52 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 bars alterations that deviate from the manufacturer's original specification without RTO authorisation, and the Supreme Court's 2019 ruling hardened that into a blanket position that no vehicle may be modified so as to change its original specs. Chassis and structural alterations sit squarely in the illegal column, with fines, impoundment, RC suspension and insurance repudiation on the table.
Admire the P 900 Rocket Edition for what it is, a €700,000-plus flex that ten people will own, and keep your angle grinder away from your G-Wagen's frame.
