Winter is when I like this route most. Bengaluru out through Mysuru, a slow breakfast halt, then Nanjangud and Gundlupet, with the Bandipur stretch of NH 766 as the reward. Cold mornings, clean air, and long flat stretches where the Nexon just sips.
The one hard constraint is the forest. Mongabay notes the night traffic ban on that highway runs between 9 pm and 6 am, so I plan to be out well before dark rather than gambling on it (read here). No permit needed for the through road, just discipline about time and speed.
Charging wise, Karnataka looks comfortable now with 44 MegaCharger sites live (story), though I still top up at Mysuru rather than rolling in thin.
Before leaving I set tyre pressures cold, check the portable cable, and keep regen on level two for the Gundlupet undulations.
