Something worth checking if your Classic is a recent one. Royal Enfield had quietly stopped fitting the gear position indicator on the 350s last year because of a rare earth material shortage, and now BikeWale reports the part is being retrofitted free of cost on Classic, Meteor, Hunter and Goan Classic bikes made after August 2025, with eligibility worked out from your VIN. We also covered it here on Moto365.
Mine is older and on spoked wheels, so I am out of this one, and honestly after years of counting by feel and engine note I rarely glance down. But I would still want what I paid for.
So, anyone here walked into a service centre with a post August bike and got it done? Did they check the VIN on the spot, or ask you to come back when the part lands? Curious whether Kerala dealers have stock yet.
