AEB going mandatory by 2030: good news, but does it change what we already paid for?

Reading the Moto365 piece on MoRTH's 19 October draft (link here) made me oddly sentimental about my AX7 L. We paid a premium for ADAS when half the internet called it a gimmick, and now the draft proposes emergency braking on every new M1 model from October 2030, with cars already in production following by 2032. Autocar India also notes AIS 185 becomes the yardstick from 2028 for cars that offer the system.
That last bit is what I keep chewing on. A common test standard should mean less of the "my AEB brakes for shadows, yours ignores a tempo" lottery we trade notes about here.
So, honest opinions: does standardised AEB make you trust the system more on a Pune to Goa run, or will you still keep a thumb hovering over the cancel?
