Captain seats or the middle bench: which XUV700 layout would you buy again?

Mine is the bench AX7 L and honestly the third row spends most of its life folded flat, which is exactly why I keep turning this question over.

Case for the captain seats: CarDekho's detailed walkthrough of the 6 seater reckons those middle chairs are more comfortable than the front ones, with real knee room, proper under thigh support and a wide enough base for larger folks, plus boss mode when someone else is at the wheel. On a Mumbai to Goa run with my parents in the middle, that sounds lovely.

Case for the bench: the same review is blunt that you cannot walk through between the captain seats. You tumble a seat and climb in from outside. With school kids and a crowded society parking slot, that gets old fast.

So vote in the replies: six or seven. And if you chose one and now regret it, say so, the new buyers in here need to hear that more than they need a brochure.
