The chrome crash guard every accessory shop pushes, and what I would fit instead on the XUV700

Every second accessory shop near me still hard sells a chrome crash guard for the XUV700, and I will admit it looks the part against Midnight Black. I keep saying no, and not only on taste. MoRTH treated the fitment as a Section 52 violation back in 2017 and the Delhi High Court pushed authorities to act on it, with the first offence at ₹1,000 (Law Trend has the order and the circular detail). The part that actually bothers me is the crumple zone and the sensors sitting behind that bumper on a car I load with family.
I would rather put that money into roof cross bars for trip luggage. Owners on Team-BHP note the Mahindra set is rated around 70 kg, but it is not recommended on AX5 and AX7 because it can foul the sunroof, which rules out my AX7 L.
So I am choosing between a third party bar and simply packing lighter. Anyone here solved the sunroof clearance on an L variant?
