Mysuru to BR Hills via Bandipur, worth doing in the Thar right after monsoon?

Thinking of doing the Mysuru to BR Hills loop through Bandipur some early Sunday, starting around 6am since the night traffic ban there runs 9pm to 6am (saw this on Deccan Herald). Roads inside the reserve probably still have monsoon patches, loose gravel near the Gopalaswamy betta turn maybe. Anyone done this run recently in a Thar, how's the tarmac holding up after this season's rain, and is 6am too tight if I want a breakfast stop at Gundlupet before the Chamarajanagar stretch. Also what would you check on the Thar before a run like this, tyre pressure for the ghat bends or something else first.
