Yelagiri in a Punch iCNG: planning the 14 bends and the last CNG top up

November is when I start itching to get the Punch out of Chennai traffic and point it west. Yelagiri is the one I keep coming back to in my head. The route write up I read puts it around 230 km via Sriperumbudur, Vellore and Vaniyambadi, with the ghat stretch carrying hairpins named after Tamil poets, which is a lovely detail for a climb (Sterling's Chennai to Yelagiri notes).
No permits, just daylight. Those bends are narrow and the buses own the apex, so I would rather be up by noon than chasing sunset.
My own prep is boring and that is the point. Cylinders topped before the highway thins out, tyre pressures set cold, leak check and valve condition looked at, and I actually lift the boot floor to confirm the space saver spare and tools are where they should be.
If you have driven this climb loaded on CNG, tell me how you paced it.
