question

Did you buy the battery top-up warranty inside the first year, or let the window close?

Sat down with Ola's own battery warranty page this week because I wanted to know exactly what my Jet Black Gen 3 is covered for, and it is less obvious than the ads make it sound. The base cover is 3 years or 40,000 km, with a bit of extra km headroom on the battery itself, and then there are paid top-up plans that stretch it much further. Coverage applies to vehicles delivered from mid November 2024 onward, and this Gen 3 write-up notes the top-up has to be bought within 12 months of delivery.

That window is the part I keep chewing on. If you ride 15,000 km a year the base cover runs out well before the battery does, so the top-up looks sensible. If you are a 4,000 km a year city rider, maybe not.

So, who here actually bought it, and did the dealer even bring it up at delivery? And for those past the one year mark, do you regret skipping it?
