Tamhini Ghat reopened, anyone taken the S1 Pro through yet?

Saw this on Pune Pulse, Tamhini Ghat is open again for two wheelers but with a 20 kmph cap through the ghat section. Thinking of doing Pune to Tamhini and back on the S1 Pro now that the rains are done and roads should be drier. Anyone here ridden it on an S1 Pro, is the tarmac still broken in patches inside the ghat, and does the climb plus those tight bends eat into range more than you'd expect? What should I check on the bike before attempting it.
