Winter is exactly the window for this one. Cool air, clear ghats, and the Nexon's regen actually gets to show off on the climb instead of just nibbling at your battery.
I was reading PluginIndia's route notes for Mumbai/Pune to Mahabaleshwar (https://www.pluginindia.com/mumbai_mahabaleshwar_electric_car.html) and they peg it at roughly 6 hours 16 minutes of driving plus about 1 hour 25 minutes of charging for the round trip math. There are three Tata Power points in Mahabaleshwar itself, so a top up near Panchgani or the main market is easy to slot in before the ghat climb back down.
No permits needed, just a full tyre pressure check and a look at your brake pads before you go. The downhill is long and if you're not using regen aggressively, the discs are doing all the work.
Best time to leave Pune, and has anyone actually used the Hotel Dreamland charger there?
