GMA crash guard or aftermarket for the 450, worth the extra?

Was reading this on Autocar India about the frame breaks on the 450, RE says the engine is a stressed frame member and wrong bolt torque on aftermarket crash guards is what caused the cracks. I run mine without any guard right now, was about to fit one before track season but this has me thinking twice. Anyone running the factory GMA guard, does it actually feel sturdier or is it just RE covering itself. And has anyone had their aftermarket guard checked properly for torque specs after reading this.
