Kumaon's quieter option: Almora to Munsiyari on the 450

Everyone's planning Spiti or Ladakh right now, so let me throw in a Kumaon option that gets less chatter here. The run goes Haldwani to Almora to Thal, then up to Munsiyari through Birthi Falls, with the last stretch famous for its 21 hairpins before the town opens up to the Panchachuli peaks.
Road quality drops noticeably after Thal, roughly a third of that stretch is patchy with steep bits, so this is a tyre and suspension check ride, not a highway blast. I'd want fresh tubeless sealant topped up and preload set for luggage before attempting those hairpins loaded. Season wise, post monsoon into early winter reads best before snow shuts things down, per this Kumaon road notes piece.
No inner line permit needed for Munsiyari itself, only if you push toward Milam valley where BRO is still building the border road. Anyone on the 450 done this loop, and how did your Kaza Brown handle those final hairpins?
