The 20,000 km service is the expensive one on the 450, and brake oil is why

If your 450 is coming up on two years, that 20,000 km stop is the one worth budgeting for. It's the only service in the early life of the bike where oil, air filter and brake oil all land together, and BikeWale's breakdown of Royal Enfield's own schedule puts it around Rs 3,258, with labour charged from then onwards. Everything either side of it is basically chain lube money.
The brake fluid is the bit I care about most. Mine lives on long descents out of Kaza and Kinnaur, and old fluid is the last thing I want boiling on a loose gravel switchback.
I also plan to have the air filter checked earlier than the book asks, because Spiti dust does not read service manuals. Soft panniers mean I carry a spare anyway.
Did your dealer include the brake oil in the quoted amount, or bill it on top?
