Early morning Chorla Ghat run, worth it in a Creta?

Thinking of doing Chorla Ghat towards Belgaum some Sunday, leaving Goa side before sunrise to beat traffic and heat. Saw this Team-BHP report on the route, sounds decent but those blind curves worry me for a pre-dawn drive with fog around. Anyone here done this stretch early morning in a Creta, how's visibility and are the hairpins manageable without local traffic yet? Also what should I check on the car before a ghat run like this, brakes mainly?
