5000 km service interval on Classic 350, anyone stretching it?

Checked the owner's manual pdf on RE's site, it says service every 5000 km or 6 months, oil filter change only every 10000 km with oil just topped up or inspected in between. That 6 month clause worries me more than the km number, my usage is low on weekdays so I'll hit the time limit way before 5000 km.

Anyone here actually going by calendar instead of odo for service visits? Does skipping to the km mark instead of the 6 month one cause any real issue, or is it just the dealer being cautious. Curious what interval you're actually following in practice, not what the manual says.
