Saw the Moto365 newsroom piece on this and had to bring it here: /p/royal-enfield-350-owners-get-the-missing-gear-indicator-fitted-free
Quick recap for anyone who missed why the gear indicator vanished in the first place. Royal Enfield had pulled it from Classic, Meteor, Hunter and Goan Classic 350s built after a certain point last year because of a rare earth magnet shortage affecting the sensor. Now they're retrofitting it free at authorised workshops for bikes made after August 2025, once your VIN is checked for eligibility.
My own Chrome Red is older stock so I never had the indicator to lose, and honestly I've ridden fine without one, you learn to feel the gearbox on a Classic. But I'm curious how many of you got the bike without it and whether the dealership visit for the retrofit was smooth or a whole saga. Worth sharing if you've had it done already.
