Every accessory shop still offers me a crash guard for the Baleno, and I still say no

Walk into any accessory shop around town with a hatchback and somebody will offer you a crash guard. Nice powder coat, bolts straight on, "madam your bumper is plastic only." The logic is tempting in our traffic, where a scooter leaning on your bumper at a signal is just Tuesday.
I don't fit one, and the reason is boring paperwork. The transport ministry told states years ago to act on bull bars because they are in contravention of Section 52, with a fine for the driver and a bigger one for whoever sells it, and the stated worry was safety for pedestrians and for people inside the car (Tribune India). A rigid bar bolted ahead of a bumper designed to crumple changes how the front end behaves, and that is before you think about airbag sensors.
What I actually spend on instead is parking sensors and a thicker set of mud flaps.
Anyone here had an RTO or insurer actually raise it on a fitted guard?
