BR Hills via Kanakapura, worth it in a Brezza this weekend?

Thinking of taking the Brezza down to BR Hills via Kanakapura Malavalli Kollegal route, weather finally cooling off. Read that the forest check post on the ghat shuts the gate by 6 pm so timing the last stretch matters. Anyone here done this drive recently, how's the ghat surface for a stock suspension, any potholes near Yelandur, and is diesel available before the climb or should I tank up fully in Kanakapura itself. Also curious if the K Gudi check post guys are strict about turning you back if you're running late.
