A parallel twin at Z300 money: does it tempt anyone off a 390 Duke?

Odd one to land in a Duke club, I know, but Kawasaki put the Z300 on sale here at ₹3.24 lakh and India got it before anyone else. The spec sheet says 296cc parallel twin, assist and slipper clutch, 175kg kerb (evo India).
My Electronic Orange isn't going anywhere. I like the frame sliders, I like the mid-range, and the single pulls harder out of a slow corner than any twin that size will. But I've stood at enough track day gates watching riders fall in love with engine note alone, and a twin spinning to eleven grand is a sound the 390 just doesn't make.
So be honest with me. Is that twin worth giving up the Duke's punch and the dealer network we already know? Or is this a bike you'd only buy as a second one?
